The teacher population is not reflecting the student population. In Texas, there are 968,569 students enrolled in Bilingual/ESL Education. However, there are only 20,650 Bilingual/ESL teachers. These statistics represent an almost 1:50 teacher/student ratio.

The Traveling Teacher + BTLPT Program is an effective approach for passing the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test that includes individualized and intensive test prep, total language immersion, and one-on-one language tutoring. Traveling Teacher + BTLPT Program is May 14 - JULY 21, 2018

This program prepares teachers to pass the July administration of the BTLPT. The course begins with evening Language Study classes, followed by the Immersion Experience, and ending with the 5-day Intensive Course. Dates are as follows:

May 14 Language Study component begins

June 14 Pre-travel meeting

June 23 Airport pick-up in Guatemala City and travel to Antigua

June 24 Welcome breakfast and tour of Antigua

June 24 Travel to Quetzaltenango and meet your host family

June 25 First day of class!

July 13 Last day of class and graduation celebration!

July 14 Travel to Antigua, final group dinner, and celebration

July 15 Travel to Guatemala City airport and return home

July 16 Intensive Course begins

July 21 BTLPT administration window opens

July 30 BTLPT administration window closes

August 21 Scores are available and score analysis meetings take place

How much is it?

The cost of the Traveling Teacher + BTLPT Program is $3,500.

I'm a teacher. Do I have to pay this tuition?

Most school districts see the value of our program and will support their teachers. In addition, there are multiple grants out there to help educators fund this experience. We are advocates for our teacher clients and can help you navigate this process, but it's important to start the process as early as possible. Contact us for further information.

HOW CAN I GET MONEY TO HELP ME PAY FOR THE CASITA INSTITUTE TUITION?

There are grants and crowdsourcing options out there available to teachers who are interested! It is important to start the process as early as possible and we are more than happy to assist in this process.
